Cubs announce 2019 spring training schedule

The Cubs will open their spring training season on Feb. 23 at Sloan Park in Mesa, Ariz., against the Brewers. The spring season ends with two games against the Red Sox on March 25, 26, also at Sloan.

The team’s tentative 34-game schedule includes 18 games at Sloan Park and 16 Cactus League road games. Additional games may be added in the future.

The Cubs and White Sox will play twice next spring: March 3 in Mesa and March 15 at the Sox in Glendale. For St. Patrick’s Day fans who love Arizona baseball, the Cubs will host the Rockies on March 17.

But there’s no rush to buy tickets yet. They won’t go on sale until Jan. 12, either at the Sloan Park ticket office, at cubs.com or by calling 800-843-2827.

Last year, the Cubs drew a major league spring training record 226,933 fans to Sloan Park, an average of 15,219, breaking their previous single-season spring training home attendance record of 226,163 set in 2017.

Sloan Park has the top 10 single-game Cactus League attendance marks, including a record crowd of 15,523 on March 20 against Kansas City.
