The Arizona Cardinals have been linked to several quarterbacks who could be selected in the first round of the NFL draft later this month. One position hardly mentioned as a possibility in the first round for the Cardinals is linebacker, perhaps because they just drafted Haason Reddick a year ago. However, there are very talented linebackers in this draft class and one is reportedly coming to visit the Cardinals.

That would be Boise State’s Leighton Vander Esch.

Vander Esch is an intriguing prospect whose stock has risen since the season ended. At 6-4, 256 pounds, he has a similar build to Karlos Dansby, who had three stints with the Cardinals. He was very productive and moves well.

While the Cardinals already have two first-round picks playing linebacker in Reddick and Deone Bucannon, could they add another top talent to the middle of the field? It would give them a very athletic trio.

Vander Esch has been mocked anywhere from the middle of the first round to early in the second round.
