Danny Amendola is staying in the AFC East, just not with the Patriots.
The 32-year-old wide receiver is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins, according to an NFL Network report.
Amendola spent the last five seasons with the Patriots and saw an increased role last season after Julian Edelman tore his ACL before the season began. Amendola finished with 61 catches for 659 yards and two touchdowns.
He was particularly a favorite target for Tom Brady in the postseason, hauling in 26 catches for 348 yards and two touchdowns in three playoff games last season and was a key figure in the Patriots’ Super Bowl championships in 2014 and 2016.

Amendola has taken pay cuts in the past to stay with the Patriots in each of the last three seasons — playing on a one-year deal worth a maximum $1.7 million last season — but at 32, this may be his final chance to cash in.
He will join a Miami team that recently traded away its top receiver in Jarvis Landry.
